Upton 1

Year 22-26 (Fall) - Money and Forgiveness

Upton Family:
Marshall Upton - Male Elder - Fortune - Earn $100,000 - Aries
Miles Upton - Male Young Adult - Family - Become Captain Hero - Leo - Biology Major

Last Round: Marshall worked on his tinkering hobby making robots to sell for money getting all the way up to silver before the round ended. He also socialized, mostly with the ladies around town. Family Sunday was small with Corky bringing Marshall's daughter Hailey and Miles bringing Aquamarine with him. In university, Miles graduated with honors and then found his intended, Aquamarine, in bed with Hans Schurenjager, who we saw get married to his love the last house. Thus, Miles is angry at Aquamarine and she moved back with her sisters for now.

We start this update with Marshall digging.  I saw in a different blog one way to make a venue work that doesn't involve the "Open Venue" loophole that involved meditating but still allows us to get a good amount of money for Marshall. Still, we need money to buy the stuff to make it work.

He is actually pretty successful, even finding a treasure chest.  Miles, who is now home, went around filling the holes back in after his grandfather was done.

Before buying the community lot, Aquamarine walks by, probably intending to steal the paper as these two are still pretty upset with each other, but I love them, and they are a good match.  ACR might have hurt them RIGHT BEFORE the end of uni, but they are meant to be, so we have Miles go invite her in and they all share breakfast.

Then Miles buys a community lot over in Bluewater, it's small, but it doesn't need to be big.  He plunks down a grill, a tent, some bathrooms that include a showerhead, a poker table and hot tub and sets the price to average. Then he begins selling tickets to come in and hang out.

He stays on the lot, sleeping in the tent, eating hot dogs the visitors cook, and showering in the small bathroom to keep all his needs up.  He also spends time birdwatching when he doesn't feel the need to talk people into paying the entrance fee.  Before long he is already at bronze and then silver badge in sales. He socializes at the poker table, which is always very popular.

Many of our known residents come to visit Marhsall's Place, including a very pregnant Amethyst Rosada, and Bruce is also here frequently as well.

Marshall manages to get himself a game plaque and becomes all shiny when he plays games, which on this lot is frequent as there is a poker table as well as a pool table here.

One day Marshall's daughter comes by the spot and Marshall sells her on paying the fee, I believe he offered it to her for cheap because we didn't yet get the offer for free, and spent some time talking with his only daughter.

Then we walk away from a minute and come back and can't find Marshall.  We have the game center on him and find him "socializing" with Tina Busto.  Tina lost her husband Howie a while ago and is currently single.  They have some fun.

Then Marshall maxes out his nature enthusiasm as well.  Sleeping in a tent all these nights really helps with that hobby plaque. Add in all the bird watching and bug catching he has been doing to keep his fun up when he isn't playing games, and it isn't surprising this happened.

Then Marshall disappears again and I once again find him in the hot tub, but this time it's with someone a lot less appropriate.  Hedwig is Tina's step-daughter, her father was Howie and she is engaged to Charles Profitt. They do not do anything more than a little cuddling though.

Then, I do a very stupid thing.  I accidentally hit the quit button, no big deal, just say cancel I hear you saying.  Yep, that would have been the thing to do, but instead, I accidentally hit the 'No' button.  As in, no don't save what has happened.  *head hits desk* So wipe just about everything that happened out of your mind, although many of the same things occurred.  He maxed gaming, maxed nature, but his daughter did not come by, and he didn't do anything with Tina or Hedwig. Instead, we start getting duplicate townies visiting the lot at the same time.

Those aren't just sims that look the same, a look at their names and the names are also the dame.  The game is starting to act a little crazy, which makes us nervous.  Anyway, the days went by and Marshall got the business to a level 10.  He also reached the $50,000 milestone as well.  So he went home and sold the business, which was worth over $60,000, and thus fulfilled his LTW.

Miles invited Aquamarine over again and this time they had a date.  The date went very well, and they are, before long, back in love again.  Then Miles had to go to work though, so we didn't get a chance to invite Aquamarine to move in.

Aquamarine hung out on the lot and talked with Marshall until at 18:18 the game froze for a second and we see a guest we knew was coming very soon.

Aquamarine was very sad, but grim brought hula dancers, a fancy drink and Marshall, having reached his LTW, was ready and happy to be on his way.  He got the chance to watch his grandson repair his relationship with his love and he knows they will be happy. Marshall died at 6:18 PM on October 5, 24.

Aquamarine hung out for a few more moments mourning her friend, and the only in-law she would have had and then heads home.

Miles comes home and invites Aquamarine back for comfort and of course, she comes, and they move in together.  Aquamarine will be a couple days behind Miles now, but that's ok. Then we see Corky walks onto the lot.  She doesn't just pass by, she walks over to the side of the house and then breaks down.  I guess she really wasn't ready for Marshall to be gone.

With all of the money Marshall had gained, plus the inheritance he left to Miles this family now has plenty of money and so the house is rebuilt.

The couple then heads down to the clothing store, where we have the game crash on us.  I also happen to notice that Miles still only has 4 wishes, instead of the 6 he should have after graduating.  I take a quick peek at SimPE and he shows as graduating with honors like he should, but the wishes didn't update, so I update it quickly, save and try to relaunch the game.  I no longer can get to the neighborhood browser. It's not that a neighborhood won't load, it won't even let me GET to the neighborhood picker.  So I exit out, fiddle around a bit, freak out, remove some of the temp files to force the game to remake them and successfully get back in.  I run the hood checker and start a backup. Back to the clothing store we go and no problems.

I like this black dress on Aquamarine, and since she grew up in that black shirt, I decided to stick with that color.  Miles gets a new outfit too, but it's fairly similar to what he had before just better pants. Back at home, in the newly done dining room, the couple talk.

They haven't updated much furniture yet, but will as time goes on.  They aren't ready to get rid of everything Marshall set up for them with he and Miles first moved here. Then, as they enjoy another date it happened.  A wish on both of their parts, they had been through enough.  Miles went to a knee...

The happy couple finishes their date and head to the bedroom, where we will leave them for fall.  I am very glad these two are back to normal again and hopefully, ACR will be nice to them and let them intact going forward. I love these two, and next round we will hopefully see a wedding.

  2. Woo nice to see the Fellowship Peeps! It has been so long ago I played them I don’t remember how these guys turned out in my game. Buh-bye Marshall. Oh wait. I do remember what happened to Marshall. He got together with Marisa Benoit. (Is that her name. Townie with long blonde ponytail). Then all Marisa’s townie friends were jealous. Haha

    2. Yeah, something like that sounds right Wen. Marshall is interesting, and hey I got him his LTW, which I didn't expect to do. :) This family was interesting and kind of fun to play, having to get these two back on track. I admit I interfered a little more than I sometimes do to get Aquamarine back with Miles. :) Thanks fo reading.
